Singing Teachers

Felicity Cook - Consultant Singing Teacher

Felicity Cook has been interested in the human voice for over twenty years. Having studied at The Royal Academy of Music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama she then emigrated to the USA where she lived and worked for seven years. Having a thorough grounding in vocal technique, via Husler and Estill models, Felicity has gone on to integrate this scientific understanding of the voice with more esoteric aspects. This puts her teaching techniques at the cutting edge of research and vocal development. She is currently studying Energy Healing and Pathwork and facilitates workshops throughout the UK on Personal Development through Voice. This is work which enables singers and non-singers to free themselves of the blocks we have all accumulated since birth, dropping our defences and masks and singing from our authentic selves.
In addition to teaching for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Felicity teaches Choral Scholars at various colleges of Cambridge University and has a very healthy private teaching practice in Cambridge and London. She also gives masterclasses and workshops throughout the UK with an emphasis on vocal technique and healthy vocal usage.

Vocal performances in the UK the USA and Europe, have included a variety of repertoire. Her most recent appearances have been with the Trio, “Vocorum” and include Liebestod from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde arranged for Soprano, Horn (Martin Lawrence) and Piano (Andrew Black). Her future plans include Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs in her next season’s concert tour.

Her thought for you: “a sound, sung healthily, heals singer and listener alike. Like the pebble in the pool, the vibration of sound reaches far beyond its singer!”.
